We worked with SEAT to find new opportunities for connected mobility


The Spanish automobile company SEAT was founded in Barcelona 70 years ago and now forms part of the Volkswagen Group. With one of the Group’s largest factories worldwide, it has reached a sales volume that represents 1% of the Spanish GDP. It’s the first industry investor in RD&I (research, development, and innovation) in Spain and the only national company that designs, develops, manufactures, and sells cars.

Until now, business in the motor vehicle industry had one simple focus: encourage consumers to purchase as many vehicles as possible. But just as we’ve seen in other industries - from music and banking to television and hotels - the automotive industry is on the verge of a breakthrough.

Combustion engines, diesel, car ownership... all of this will soon be a thing of the past as a new business model is introduced, making data the new oil. The digital community will be the principal source of income in the automotive industry, and manufacturers will need to pay close attention to the digital services that they can offer in their cars.
